About me
I am Chiara Grifantini, an architect and artist specializing in high-quality, hand-painted textiles. Raised in a family of architects in Rome, my journey in architecture and interior design has shaped a deep appreciation for space, composition, and the interplay between form and function.
Frequent travels exposed me to diverse artistic traditions, each a "treasure for my eyes" and a wellspring of inspiration. My time in the United States, Australia, and New Zealand deepened my fascination with how cultural heritage influences our environments, particularly through the rich craftsmanship of Aboriginal, Māori, and Native American traditions. These experiences refined my understanding of color and materiality, sparking an enduring passion for visual arts and their connection to architecture.
My work is rooted in a philosophy of subtraction over addition—seeking purity in design, where beauty emerges from nature’s simplicity. I strive to create interiors that feel both timeless and organic, where each element resonates with authenticity and elegance.
In my studio, I craft unique, hand-painted textiles, including fabric by the meter, headboards, throws, wall paneling, cushions, curtains, wall hangings, and tablecloths. Using only natural materials, I design each piece to tell a story and bring a sense of refined beauty into any space.
I have had the pleasure of collaborating with esteemed names such as Summerill & Bishop, Sugokuii Events, Gianluca Longo, Luisa Via Roma, Spazio Giallo Interiors, MIA Interiors, and Liberty. These partnerships have allowed me to merge art with functionality, transforming interiors into curated, evocative spaces.
My hand-painted textiles are not just decorative elements; they are works of art, designed for interior designers, architects, boutique owners, restaurants, and hotels seeking distinctive, personalized solutions. Each creation is a reflection of my deep connection to nature, bringing a unique and sophisticated touch to interior design.
